And the Streak is Broken

June 16, 2008

But I have a good excuse.  Yesterday was my graduation ceremony from UC Riverside.  Two hours in direct sunlight while wearing unflattering polyester black gowns.  I’m glad it’s over.  For awhile there, it seemed like it would never end.  After all the names were read, some guy got up to sing.  I wanted to kill him, but my bloodlust was nothing compared to what I felt when the Chancellor made us sing the Alma Mater song twice because there wasn’t enough enthusiasm the first time.  At that point I was ready to rush the stage.

By the time we got my boxes into the car and drove home, I was dead.  Dead.  I kept wanting to actually do things – organize my room, or write – but my body wouldn’t hear of it.

So today really is the first day of the rest of my life.  I have a BA in creative writing, and in five days I leave for a week in Boston.

And something’s wrong with our refrigerator.  The Real World begins.

Quote of the Day:

“If you have a college degree you can be absolutely sure of one thing… you have a college degree.”  -Author Unknown

Link of the Day: – because, sadly, you have to start somewhere.
